Cryptolepis

Spirochetes are bacteria typically transmitted through tick bites, and their presence is often associated with other microbes, making recovery challenging. Cryptolepis, along with its primary alkaloid cryptolepine, has demonstrated microbial balancing activity, inhibiting unwanted bacterial organisms. Additionally, cryptolepine has exhibited potent activity against spirochetes. In a separate study, Cryptolepis showed strong activity against both actively growing and non-growing stationary phase spirochetes. These findings suggest that Cryptolepis may have potential benefits in addressing infections caused by spirochetes and related microbes.
